This is one of the most beautiful apartments in Metropol. Its walls are covered with beige silk resembling an age-old tapestry. In the interior there are many remarkable details, namely, a splendid bronze lamp made by Russian masters at the beginning of the last century (a bear holding on to the trunk of the tree-miracle), a large oval mirror in a carved wooden frame, floor vases made under chinoiserie - a tribute to the passion for the East at the end of the XIX century, a bronze sculpture of the young woman sitting on a throne (XIX century). There is a round table (for 8 persons) at the center of another drawing room. Just at this table the Bolshevik leaders arranged conferences in 1918-1919 when the apartment served as a flat of the prominent Soviet leader Yury Larin and one of the People's Commissariat (Ministry) of the national economy at a time. Lenin, Bukharin, Stalin used to visit the Larins to determine the fortune of the country. In later Soviet times the AirFrance office was there.
During the last fifteen years that passed after restructuring many eminent guests resided in the apartment among which the Prime-Ministers of Spain Aznar and Zapatero, the actress Julia Ormond, the musician Ringo Starr, the pianist Van Cliburn were.
